Experience the luxury of a customized session impeccably tailored to your unique vision.

...because that pure joy you will feel when looking at your portraits years from now, transported back to these moments, is worth the investment.

The Process, Step by Step

With me, you just relax. Portrait sessions do not need to be stressful — they’re supposed to be fun! Like every project, they have a beginning, a middle, and an end, and I will guide you through the process, step by step.

1. Initial consultation

When you reach out to me, I’ll give you a call back, and we’ll chat. I’ll answer any initial questions you might have about your customized portrait experience with me. During this call, we’ll set up a time to meet in person (possibly over video conference depending on your location) to go over the process in more detail, book your session, and plan the details of your customized portrait experience.

2. Design consultation

I enjoy guiding you through this entire experience to ensure you have a beautiful, stress-free session that you will appreciate for years to come.  One of the ways I do this is by offering pre-session design consultation.  This is when I learn about your family, your style, your personalities, your vision for the session.  I’ll ask you about your style and favorite colors, what props you adore for your newborn, and finally what your dream is for your artwork — what you will do with your portraits.  This is where I learn what pulls at your heart strings, what sort of images will make your heart swell for decades. This is when I help you hone in on exactly what you are dreaming of, so I can make that magic happen. Knowing your family’s style helps me to plan your session as well as suggest different boutique pieces to beautifully display your portraits in your home. We’ll plan every detail. Together. Some parents can feel a bit anxious when thinking of their session. Parents run through so many questions in their minds: what will I wear, what will my kids wear, how will I get my kid(s) to cooperate, what will I do with my portraits when I receive them?  I calm that worry by guiding you every step of the way from brainstorming ideas to hanging fine art images on your walls.

3. Customized portrait session

All of the hopes and dreams you shared with me during your design consultation — this is when the magic happens. No stress. I promise to ease any anxiety you might have about being in front of the camera. (My squeaky pig is a client favorite. Don’t ask 😉 ) Just relax, be yourselves, and let me guide you. Your custom portrait session will  be a beautiful and positive experience….likely with some giggling.

4. Viewing & ordering appointment

Approximately 1-2 weeks after your session, we’ll meet up again, and I’ll show you all of your gorgeous portraits.  This is when we take the time to design the perfect pieces of art for your family, which pieces you want to display in your home, and which images you would like in your beautiful heirloom albums or portfolio collection boxes.  This is the time when you will finalize your portrait order, so be sure to pick a time when when everyone involved in the decisions can be there.

5. Delivery of your portraits

Approximately 3-6 weeks after you place your order, your art will be ready.  Your most precious heirlooms are the memories of your family.  Place them where you will see them often and let your heart swell every time.  I’m happy to help with installation of wall art if it gets it up on your walls faster.  I want you to enjoy you to sit back and enjoy your portraits as soon as possible.  These are your precious loved ones.  The are your kids who are growing too fast.  This is your art that you will cherish to the end of your days.

See you again soon!

That’s not the end!  My client families come back to see me year after year as their children grow and change.  Soon it will be time to update your portraits.  Right from the start we will plan your custom portraits knowing there will be many more pieces to come.  We can design with that in mind!  I have invested a lot of time in selecting the perfect hand-crafted boutique items I offer my clients, and I make sure all of the luxurious pieces perfectly pair with the others (such as the matching fine linens and fabrics available for albums, collection boxes, and folios).  The next time you work with me, we’ll create new art that coordinates with the pieces from sessions past so you can continue to build a legacy of heirloom art for you, your children, and their children to delight in year after year.
